Ventsi Stoimirov started the women's soccer program at Grand View in 1998. The Vikings won Midwest Collegiate Conference titles in 2003, 2004 and 2011, and finished as runner-up in 2005, 2007, and 2012. The team also won the Conference Tournament title in 2003 and 2009 and finished as Tournament runner-up in 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2011, and 2012.
Grand View advanced to the NAIA Region VII Tournament Quarterfinals in 2004, 2005, and 2007 and to the Tournament Semifinal in 2003. The Vikings hit a milestone in 2009 making their first NAIA National Tournament appearance. They were ranked nationally or received votes in the NAIA National rankings in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2011,2012,2013, and 2014.
Stoimirov has coached 15 All-American selections and 98 Academic All-American Scholar-Athlete selections. Stoimirov was also selected as the MCC Coach of the Year in 2003, 2004, and 2011 and NAIA Region VII Coach of the Year in 2003. Stoimirov is currently ranked #15 in the NAIA women’s soccer winningest active coaches. Stoimirov, who has an International FIFA/UEFA "B" Coaching License, has ten years of club coaching experience. His Iowa United Soccer teams have won five state championships.
Stoimirov was a six-year starter for the Des Moines Menace playing on the teams that reached the final four of the National Tournament in 1995 and 1998. He was also voted the Menace Fans MVP for the 2000 season. Stoimirov was also a two-year starter for Graceland University in 1993-94 and 1994-95 seasons. He was selected as a team captain, second-team All-Conference, and NAIA Academic All-American during the 1994-95 season.
Stoimirov grew up in Bulgaria, playing for the CSKA F.C. Sofia. He was a member of three national championship teams on youth and collegiate levels and the under-17 National Team Pool. Stoimirov also played in the second division of what is now the Professional Soccer League.
Stoimirov was one year away from completing his Master's Degree with a triple major in Coaching Football (Soccer), Physical Education, and Sports Management before transferring to Graceland. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Graceland University in 1995 and his Master’s In Business Administration from Iowa State University in 1998.
